New Breed Jiu-Jitsu Federation
Coach Kevin with two of our young competitors on the podium.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the best martial art you can start a kid in. It builds real physical skill without teaching them to strike, gives them a body-and-mind response to conflict that isn't panic, and does more for anti-bullying than any assembly ever will.
Our kids program runs as a single mixed-age class for ages 6-13. That's intentional — kids learn faster around slightly-older kids, and slightly-older kids learn to lead around slightly-younger ones. Classes have a strict coach-to-student ratio, live rolling is done under direct supervision only, and every session ends with a debrief about what they learned.
Kids class runs every day, Monday through Friday at 5:30pm. Come every day or twice a week — the curriculum is designed so a 2-day-a-week kid stays on track with a 5-day-a-week kid.
What kids get
Movement and fundamentals
Shrimping, break-falls, hip mobility, guard retention, escapes, and the core positions. Younger kids get more games-based reps; older kids drill deeper into technique. Same class, appropriately scaled coaching.
A real belt system
Sweeps, escapes, submissions from safer positions. Belt promotions are earned and taken seriously — no participation stripes, no "everyone gets one."
What we won't do
We won't tell your kid they're a black belt when they're 12. We won't hand out stripes for showing up. We won't pressure them to compete before they want to. And we won't turn a kids class into a cardio-and-cheerleading routine that has nothing to do with actual jiu-jitsu.
Trial class + first month
Every kid gets a free trial class — same as adults. If they love it, the kids program is $180/mo and includes a uniform on signup.
